Why Choose Chelmsford Gas Services?
A boiler that’s looked after is safer, cheaper to run and far less likely to pack in on the coldest week of the year.
Safety first, every time
We check for the things you can't see, including carbon monoxide risks, leaks and worn seals, so your family stays safe.
Lower running costs
A clean, well-tuned boiler burns less gas. We adjust it back to how it should run.
Keeps your warranty valid
Most manufacturers require an annual service to keep their guarantee in place. We do it by the book, and log it.
Catch small faults early
A worn part spotted in autumn is a cheap fix, not a breakdown in January.
Not just the boiler
We can look over the wider heating system too, from radiators to controls, so the whole thing works as it should.
Peace of mind
You get a clear verdict on your boiler's health, in plain English. No jargon, no upselling.
What a proper service actually covers
A service is roughly 30 checks, and it varies by appliance. Here’s what it looks like on the two most common boiler types.
For HE Boilers (High Efficiency)
Most modern condensing boilers
Preliminary System Checks:
✔︎ Visual inspection of the appliance and tightness test
✔︎ Fuse rating, conductors and mains bonding
✔︎ Flue guard and flue gas analyser reading
✔︎ Condense trap, pipework, burner seals and electrodes
Servicing work:
✔︎ Remove and clean the condense trap
✔︎ Replace the burner seal if required
✔︎ Clean the heat exchanger if required
✔︎ Adjust the gas valve for better efficiency if required
Standard-efficiency (SE) boilers
Older, non-condensing appliances
Preliminary System Checks:
✔︎ Visual inspection of the appliance and tightness test
✔︎ Fuse rating, conductors and mains bonding
✔︎ Flue guard and flue gas analyser reading
✔︎ Condense trap, pipework, burner seals and electrodes
Servicing work:
✔︎ Clean burners, injectors and flue ways
✔︎ Check pilot flame and burner pressure (adjust if required)
✔︎ Operating and high-limit thermostats, flue flow and spillage checks
✔︎ Door seals, flue guard, high and low-level ventilation
Every service is carried out in line with the manufacturer's instructions for your specific boiler, using genuine parts.
How it works
Booked, serviced and signed off in three steps
Step 1: Book a time that suits you
Call or send the form with your boiler's make and model. We'll find you a slot, and remind you each year if you'd like us to.
Step 2: We service it thoroughly
A Gas Safe engineer works through the full check list, cleans what needs cleaning and tunes it back to how it should run. Usually done in under an hour.
Step 3: You get the verdict in plain English
We tell you honestly how the boiler's doing, flag anything to keep an eye on, and leave everything clean and working.
